2015 - CURRENT
tHE BEIRUT ART RESIDENCY
Founded in 2015, the Beirut Art Residency (BAR) is a space dedicated to supporting the production and dissemination of contemporary art. BAR provides emerging and mid-career artists with the time and space to work. Artists are encouraged to venture beyond their usual practice while laying the groundwork for future projects. The outcome of the residency is a cross-cultural exchange, on the one hand bridging residents of Beirut to a much wider, international discourse surrounding contemporary art, and on the other leaving a lasting impression on residents. BAR’s exhibition and public intervention programs enhance the approachability of contemporary art.

la vitrine
Co-founded in partnership with Lebanese visual artist Ziad Antar, La Vitrine was established to fill Beirut’s lack of public art and provide a platform for artistic expression. This ground-level space measuring 4x2 meters with towering ceilings, aptly displays its artistry through a glass door, connecting the art with the lively Beirut streets.
Operated bi-monthly, La Vitrine welcomes artists to craft site-specific works focusing on societal concerns and public spaces. It showcases how artists interpret concepts in this confined space, serving as a public interface. By doing so, La Vitrine substitutes the physical presence of the artists themselves while providing just enough information to engage viewers and stimulate their imagination.

THE PROJECT SPACE
The Project Space is a contemporary exhibition venue dedicated to showcasing the work of Beirut-based artists. The works shown in the Project Space are varied in terms of subject matter but all stem from a more research-based, experimental nature with an emphasis on finding different ways of approaching ideas and questions.
The projects on display emerge from intimate partnerships, where the development of curatorial ideas interweaves seamlessly with the artists' creative vision. This collaborative approach infuses the Project Space with a unique vitality, allowing fresh perspectives to flourish within the Beirut art scene.
